Manufacturers, importers, and traders supplying UPVC potable water pipes without a valid BIS licence are liable to penalties, including product seizure and fines under the BIS Act, 1986.

- In the certification process, product testing is the most important stage as it determines whether the quality of the product meets Indian standards.
